Hi, I’m Sandy Schroeck, here for the Smithers-Oasis IDEA Channel. Today we are going to talk about a quick tip involving banding, and about how I created this equisetum cross.
This one is created on a 30″ Mache Cross, but you can start with any size. I started with the twelve inch piece of the Flat Wire, and then applied it using UGlu strips, one to the end, two to the middle. Then you take your equisetum, peel back the UGlu, and then just determine the length that you want to have your piece. Here you can see a piece that is ready to apply, and then I am just going to take off the last piece of UGlu and apply it to our 20″ Mache Cross. You do want to make sure that your banding is down low enough, so that when you are done with your arrangement the band will still be visible. I just added the flowers in through the middle.
That’s our quick tip for today, an equisetum cross to create for an outdoorsmen. I’m Sandy Schroeck, for the Smithers-Oasis IDEA Channel.
